How do I change my brake pads?

They are ABS brakes and I have no clue on how to change it, but I want to change them myself to save a little money, money is tight right now, So how do you change the pads for a 96 Ford Taurus GL V6. Do I need to flush out the Fluid, If I do, How do I do that also? Thank you for your helpHow do I change my brake pads?
With the front of the vehicle lifted off the ground, and properly supported by jackstands, remove the front wheels. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left. Using a 12mm wrench, remove the two brake caliper bolts, and remove the brake caliper. Using a broken piece of coat hanger, hang the caliper on one of the coils of the spring. DO NOT let it hang by the flex hose. Using a 15mm 1/2%26quot; drive flex impact socket and impact gun, OR a 15mm 1/2%26quot; drive socket with a long johnson bar, remove the two caliper bracket support bolts, and remove the bracket along with the brake pads. The brake rotor should now just %26quot;knock off%26quot; the hub. Either replace, or take the rotor to a shop to be resurfaced. Bear in mind, the minimum thickness spec. for this particular brake rotor is 24.75mm. If the thickness is below that, you will need to replace the brake rotors. Using one of the old brake pads and a pair of channel lock type pliers, compress brake caliper piston all the way back into its bore. Clean off the hub surface of any rust, and apply a light coat of anti-seize compound. Re-install either a new rotor, or the resurfaced rotor (if still within specs.) and secure temporarily with two wheel nuts onto the hub. Clean off all brake dust on the caliper bracket, particularly the area where the brake pad sits, and lubricate with anti-seize. Re-install caliper bracket making sure the two 15mm bolts are TIGHT. Install new brake pads. Re-install brake caliper, paying attention to ensure the pads stay properly seated during re-installation. Turn steering wheel all the way to the right, and repeat the procedure as outlined. Once finished, re-install the wheels, and torque the wheel nuts to 95-100 ft.-lbs. in a %26quot;star%26quot; pattern. Release vehicle to the ground. PUMP UP THE BRAKE PEDAL UNTIL RESISTANCE IS FELT IN THE PEDAL, BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO MOVE VEHICLE!!!!! Hope this helps. How do I change my brake pads?
Remove your wheels, take the calipers off the housing and do not loosen the brake hose, use a c-clamp to push the caliper piston back. Inspect the rotors, replace if they are grooved, rusted, or if you feel a pulsation - I recommend replacing rotors anyway. To replace the rotors, loosen the caliper housing bolts, and use a hammer if needed to pound the old rotor off, clean the hub surfaces, install the caliper housing, install the pads, and put the caliper back in place and tighten the bolts, then reinstall the wheel. Repeat this procedure on the other side. No bleeding is necessary. To do rear pads, you may need a special tool to retract caliper piston. How do I change my brake pads?

Go to public library!

Look for repair manuals for your car (Chilton?)

Make list of all parts you will need!

Make photocopies of pertenent material!

Have at it!How do I change my brake pads?
i own a repair shop and if you really want to do them go and buy a good repair manual on it, a Haynes repair manual is the best to use on it,because anti lock brakes are not like normal brakes to do,and if you don't do them right ,they,ll never work right ,id advise you to get the book,if you do and you read it you,ll see what I'm talking about as far as being different to do,good luck i hope this helps. How do I change my brake pads?

Brakes are very important. If you are not knowledgeable regarding the subject, take you auto to a qualified mechanic or the Ford house. How do I change my brake pads?
front pads are easy remove tire wheel assembly (always use a jack stand never trust just a jack) using a large c clamp push the piston of the caliper inremove the caliper slide pin bolts (either a 12 or 13 mm head i don't remember which)remove the caliper paying attention to how the pads are in the caliper hanger put the new ones in the same way. if you need to replace the rotor remove the 2 15mm head bolts on the caliper hanger set aside hanger rotor should come off. if it is rusted on give it a good couple of hits with a hammer reassemble everything just the way it was. if it is rear pads do not force the piston in with a c clamp the piston has to be turned at the same time as it is pushed into the caliper.other than that it is the same basic set up. as for abs as long as you don't mess with the sensor you'll be fine. and if your brake fluid is dirty you will need a helper to bleed the brakes but this is not that common and you really don't want to brake off a bleeder valve.
