I went for oil change today,at the service and the guy called me up an hour later to tell me that my brake pads and disc need changing,i must say i don't really know about brakes,but after talking 10 min,iv asked how much it would cost,he said additional 拢500,is that not too much guys?拢500 for changing front pads and rear?The brake disc and pads on my golf4?
you can change the pads yourself for about $50 US (Maybe 25 or so in the UK). Not knowing labor charges, I had my daughters done here in the US for $150 and that included a new caliper assembly.



500 pounds is like $1000 in the US and that is way way too much.

if he's just changing the pads and rotors, He could be ripping you ioff. But the then again, it is a volkjswagen and thhose cars expensive to repair here in north america. But you seem to be in britain, so yea, he's ripping you off. I suggest you find another mechanic to do the job. should only cost you 200 dollars.
