Changed rear disc brakes on Pontiac Grand Prix, goofed by cracking open brake line. How do I bleed this system

Didn't know the caliper turned in and out, so I loosened the line to try getting caliper pushed in. The whole brake system is sloppy now even after I bled this brake that I was working on. What is the proper procedure for bleeding these brakes? and what is the right way to change these brake pads on the rear? Remove the cap from the Master Cylinder %26amp; fill with Dot 3.

Crack the bleeder on the wheel you were working on. Place a container to catch the fluid. Allow to drip until no air is visible. Do the same to the other side until fluid runs clear.

sounds like you did it right, just be more careful of the lines...



bleed the brakes from the furthest away to the closest to the master cylinder..



usually passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, driver front...



the bleeders can be tricky to crack open if they aren't new, good luck...

You did good, but it's time to take it to a shop and have the brake fluid flushed and bled. It's a job best done on a lift by professionals, take my word for it! okay. listen closely. first,.....be sure you have the line closed...refill your brake cup.

then have someone slowly....s l o w l y.....push the brake pedal. you crack open the brake line, until the pedal goes to the floor,...close the line, and have them release the pedal.

refill the cup,...and start over. do this until the brake pedal is stif and you are no longer getting air from the line, and only getting brake fluid.

WARNING:

at NO time allow brake fluid to touch the car's paint.......

I have seen far too many people lean on the car with fluid on their hands and it will damage the paint job.

this is a two man job. Man A and B

Man A pump the brake while B close the brake ''nipple'' and then pump and hold while Man B released the :nipple'' . Brake fuild will flow continue for several time in a brake, then top up brake fluid and completed all the brake
