I was told that I have 3cm left on my brake pads?

I drive a Toyota SR5. My brakes were checked recently. I was told that I have 3cm left on my brake pads. I do mostly Freeway driving. I almost never have to brake hard.

How much time do I have before I need to change my brakes?

I don't hear squeaking or metal rubbing and the brakes don't feel spongy.I was told that I have 3cm left on my brake pads?
3 cm is over an inch of pad. most cars do NOT come that thick when new.

I think you mean 3 mm (or about 0.12 inches). It is pretty much gone. As to how many miles / time, that really depends on your driving habbit (L.A. driver would need braking more often than say somebody from country side)...

Be safe and go get it replace.

Good Luck...I was told that I have 3cm left on my brake pads?
3cm or 3mm? 3cm seems awefuly thick for a brake pad. If it has 3mm you are probably ok for awhile but invest in getting them replaced at some point in the future. Brakes usually squeal because they are designed with a tiny piece of metal that when the pads are getting low, they rub on the rotor. Doesn't cause any damage but let's you know your going to need to change them in the next 2 months or so.I was told that I have 3cm left on my brake pads?
3mm wow that is not much. You should have heard the tattler rubbing on the brake disk (or you will soon) that tells you that your brakes are worn out. Replace these pads as soon as possible.

If you let them go much longer you may metal to metal contact when you apply the brakes and when that happens you just start adding expense.I was told that I have 3cm left on my brake pads?
3mm is far too less Change pads ASAP.
